Hexi Corridor is a 10-episode documentary co-produced by China Central Television and the Gansu Provincial Communist Party Propaganda Department, plus two summary episodes "Tribute to the Hexi Corridor." Tracing history chronologically from the Han Dynasty through to the present, the series follows the great corridor west of the Yellow River — once a path of imperial cavalry, ancient merchant caravans, and East-West cultural exchange. The first documentary ever to take the Hexi Corridor as its main subject, it spans the Han, Three Kingdoms, Jin, Sui-Tang, Yuan, Ming-Qing, Republic, and modern eras.
